In Memoriam

Frank Smith

Frank, pictured left, was an active member who encouraged everyone to give track driving a try. He won many awards including taking his class at the 2019 Pittsburgh convention.

“Frank contributed a great deal to the Capital Chapter and was a familiar face at most of our Chapter events.  He was a pleasure to talk with as he always contributed some good insights about Alfas and some great stories which often made me laugh.  After giving me a hair-raising ride in his car during intermission at one of the FATT sessions at Summit Point he even coaxed me into taking speed driving lessons at a couple of FATT sessions.  Frank was a valued contributing member of our Chapter and will be greatly missed.” — Randy Grant

Denny Broud

Denny enjoyed his much-driven Alfa Romeo Milano and 1991 Spider. He was an active member of the Capital Chapter of the Alfa Romeo Owners Club, where he and his wife Trish could be found generously contributing to the setup, running, and cleanup of many events. Denny enjoyed leading Chapter members on drive-and-dine drives and road rallies, taking advantage of the many “Alfa roads” in Maryland and Virginia and sharing tips for keeping our cars running strong and looking sharp. Denny served for a number of years as Chapter Secretary, and he and Trish (our immediate past President) participated in many National Conventions, including helping to organize events for the 2010 Frederick, MD AlfaCentury. Wherever there is an Alfa picnic in the afterlife, Denny will surely be manning the grill.
